This week on Texas Eats, David Elder takes us to a Filipino restaurant in the Alamo City serving delicious and modern takes on Filipino classics. He talks with the owner Camille De Los Reyes about Filipino culture and what has inspired her dishes.

Wedding-venue shoppers and wine enthusiasts can now add smoked meat to the list of reasons to visit the Burg. After three years of cooking 'cue out of a food truck near Houston, Lance Eaker and his wife, Boo, took off for the Hill Country in June and opened this brick-and-mortar.

Eaker BBQ is down-home Texas BBQ meets Korean. Typical BBQ sides, such as mac n' cheese and coleslaw, are joined by kimchi fried rice and Korean cucumber salad. The meats include smoked favorites, like brisket and sausage, but you can also switch it up with an order of Gochujang pork ribs.

At the beginning of 2020, Lance Eaker was given an ultimatum by his wife, Boo. "You've got one year," she said. "We're in a restaurant or we're going back to work. I'm not doing the food truck anymore."
